8 turnips, washed and scrubbed, and shredded in a processor or cut in matchbook slices
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons Vegebase or other vegetable powder
1 pinch turmeric (optional)
1/2 cup dried soybeans (they often come 'lightly salted')
1. In a large skillet, add the water, Vegebase and turnips.
2. Cook and stir several times until the turnips are translucent, about 15 minutes. Sprinkle with cinnamon right before serving. Add a pinch of optional turmeric for an even more golden color.
Note: You can add the soybeans anytime during the cooking to soften them up. Or you can add them after cooking for a contrasting crunch.
