We’re always looking for delicious plant-based protein sources and hummus is high up on the list. It's fast, it's easy and you can keep it in the fridge for a week. This recipe has 36 grams of protein from the garbanzo beans (18g per can).
It's so easy to make. We use a Vita-Mix but you can also make it in a food processor or a good blender.
2 cans of garbanzo beans(one drained, one with liquid)
¼ cup raw sesame seeds
1 tablespoon of olive oil
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon cumin
Salt to taste
Parsley for garnish
** Add garlic if you wish
Place all of the ingredients except the parsley into the Vita-Mix or food processor. Blend until creamy. (If using the Vita-Mix, use the Frozen Desserts setting). Garnish with parsley.
